Candle care
At AuraLux, we take pride in creating handcrafted, artistic candles that enhance your space with warmth and beauty. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please follow these important candle care guidelines.
1. Choosing the Right Surface & Enclosure
- Many of our candles do not come in jars, so it is up to you to place them in a heat-resistant dish, tray, or jar to catch melting wax.
- Use a non-flammable, stable surface to prevent heat damage or spills.
- Avoid placing candles directly on wood, fabric, or other sensitive materials.
2. Burning Time & Best Practices
- To prevent overheating and extend the life of your candle, we recommend burning for a maximum of 3 hours at a time.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended or near flammable objects.
- Keep away from drafts, pets, and children.
3. Wick Care & Flame Control
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use to avoid excess soot and ensure a steady, clean burn.
- If the flame becomes too large or flickers excessively, extinguish the candle, let it cool, and trim the wick before relighting.
4. Extinguishing Your Candle
- Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to prevent wax splatter.
- Allow the wax to fully cool and harden before moving or relighting.
5. How to Use Your Candle Bouquet
- These mini candles are fully functional and designed to be burned.
- Candles with a wick should be placed in a small heat-resistant bowl or jar before lighting to safely collect the melting wax.
- Burn until the desire amount of wax has melted.
- Once the wick has finished, or for candle flowers without wicks, place the wax in a microwave-safe, heat-resistant bowl or jar and heat for approximately 30 seconds until melted. Repeat the process until the candle has melted.
- Set the bowl or jar on a heat-resistant surface and allow the fragrance to gently fill your space.
- These candles can also be used as wax melts.
- Once the wax solidifies, you may repeat the melting process to maximize the life of your candle.
5. General Candle Safety
✔ Burn candles in a well-ventilated area.
✔ Do not burn a candle all the way down—stop using when ½ inch of wax remains.
✔ Never add foreign objects to the wax.
By following these safe burning practices, you can fully enjoy the beauty and craftsmanship of AuraLux while ensuring a safe environment.
